How claims are processed

From a flagged click to Google's answer — without you

This is the part of SaveMyBudget you never see happen. Every step below runs on its own; we keep you informed as each claim moves, and where Google confirms, the credit lands on your Google Ads account.

What runs while you do nothing

Claims moving through the six steps below. Several are always in flight; not all of them are filed, and not all filed ones are credited.

Your partNothing. We keep you informed at every step.informed
1 · Always onus

Every ad click, scored

Each click on your ads is checked against our detection rules as it lands.

1,840 clicks · 181 flagged
2 · Dailyus

Flags grouped by source

Flagged clicks that share a source or a pattern become one cluster — one possible claim.

3 · The barus

Enough evidence?

Several independent signals have to agree, and Google must not have credited it already. If not, it stays on watch.

4 · Filedus

Prepared, reviewed, filed

Evidence pack assembled — click log, source analysis, timeline, written summary. Reviewed by our claims team, then filed through Google's official process.

5 · Daysgoogle

Google reviews

Google checks the claim against its own data. Usually a matter of days, even when escalated.

6 · Answergoogle

Confirmed, partly, or declined

A credit lands in your Google Ads account for what Google confirms. We charge 25% of that; a declined claim costs nothing.

31 of 56 confirmed · $130 credit · fee $32.50

Partly confirmed

Not every cluster becomes a claim, and not every claim is credited. Nothing in this loop needs you.

Illustrative. Google decides every claim; amounts and timings vary by account.

1 · always on · us

Every ad click, scored

The tag on your site records what happens after each ad click — where it came from, how it behaved, whether it looks like a person. Each click is checked against our detection rules as it lands. Most pass. The ones that match invalid patterns are flagged, with the reason.

You see: the flagged-clicks table in your dashboard, reason on every row.

2 · daily · us

Flags grouped by source

Flagged clicks that share a source or a pattern — one hosting range, one address returning every day, one proxy pool — become a cluster. A cluster is one possible claim. We keep clusters small and specific: one source, one date range, the campaigns it touched. That is what Google can check.

You see: clusters forming under Claims, marked "on watch".

3 · the bar · us

Enough evidence?

A cluster is filed only when several independent signals agree — the network it came from, how the session behaved, the timing. One odd signal isn't a claim. We also check your Google Ads billing first: if Google's own filters already credited these clicks, there is nothing to claim, and we don't.

Clusters below the bar stay on watch. If the evidence never arrives, the oldest clicks leave Google's window unfiled. We'd rather not file than file thin — thin claims cost credibility with the people who review them.

You see: "on watch" or "enough evidence" on each cluster.

4 · filed · us

Prepared, reviewed, filed

We assemble a full evidence pack for the cluster: a click-level log (click ID, address, timestamp, campaign, cost), a source analysis showing where the traffic came from and how it behaved, a timeline of the activity, and a written summary that states the case in plain terms. Every question Google's process asks is answered from your account's own history.

Our claims team reviews the pack before anything is sent — scope, evidence quality, and that nothing in it has already been credited. Then it's filed through Google's official invalid-clicks process, on your behalf, under the permission you granted in your dashboard. Every filing is archived with its reference so it can be matched to Google's reply.

You see: the claim move to "Filed", with the evidence pack attached, and we let you know.

5 · days · google

Google reviews

Google's team checks the claim against its own data, which sees things ours can't from the site. It usually takes days, even when a claim is escalated. We track the claim and match Google's reply to it when it arrives.

You see: "Google reviewing" on the claim, with the filing date.

6 · answer · google

Confirmed, partly, or declined

Google decides every claim. Where it confirms, the credit goes onto your Google Ads account in full — it never passes through us. We then charge 25% of the confirmed amount to your card and email you the calculation. Where Google confirms part of a claim, we charge on that part only. Where it declines, nothing is charged and the evidence stays on file.

You see: Google's answer on the claim, and we let you know — with the calculation where Google confirmed.

Rules we keep

What we never do

  • Never claim a click Google's own filters have already credited.
  • Never claim the same click twice, and never re-file a declined cluster with the same evidence.
  • Never file a claim our claims team hasn't reviewed.
  • Never pad a claim — one source, one date range, the campaigns it touched.
  • Never charge before Google has confirmed, and never on the part it didn't.
